The Company

Maintenance & Project Engineering (MPE) is an Asset Management Consultancy with approximately 50 permanent consultants based in Central and South East Queensland, New South Wales and Western Australia. We are growing rapidly and would like to share the opportunities this brings with you. 

MPE has developed proprietary shutdown management software which is integral to the delivery of real time progress reporting on large scale projects. As the Project Engineer (Shutdowns) you will play a critical role in ensuring data quality, ongoing development and working closely with our clients to deliver best-in-industry results.

What will the role entail:  

  • Management of day to day project data to facilitate project tracking, cost control and progress reporting
  • Working closely with our clients and their contractors
  • Accountability for ensuring overall data quality
  • Having the opportunity to lead continuous improvement of systems and process
  • Liaising with our software team in developing our shutdown management software to its full potential.

To be successful you will require a:

  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Degree
  • Proven record in project management
  • High level of computer literacy
  • Strong communication ability
  • Willingness to travel 

This role requires a person who has:

  • Excellent knowledge in MS Excel and Project
  • Experience in shutdown and major maintenance projects
  • Good problem solving skills
  • An attitude and aptitude to adapt to and deal with dynamic solutions
  • A desire to learn and to develop processes and systems for continuous improvement
  • Experience in mining or heavy industry, CMMS and other maintenance systems as well as programming experience in VBA, SQL, Java etc will be highly regarded.
