Maintenance and Project Engineering staff come from a wide range of professional backgrounds which enables MPE to provide its customers with a broad range of valuable skills, knowledge and experience in the Mining, Construction, Industrial and other sectors.

Board of Directors, Senior Management

The MPE Board of Directors is made up of Mick Meissner, Ron Shuttlewood, Garry McCarthy and Peter Banks.  Together, the MPE Directors share a common vision that enables staff to have the opportunity to be involved in the growth of the company and at the same time ensuring the company grows as a leader in Asset Management and Project Engineering & Management.

Mick Meissner, General Manager

Mick Meissner has been a part of the MPE team since 2001 and was appointed a Director and General Manager of the Company in 2004.

Mick has been associated with the mining industry for over 30 years having held senior maintenance management positions in both Open Cut and Underground operations.

With a Masters in Business Technology and Associate Diploma in Mechanical Engineering his field of expertise is work management with specific experience in facilitating cultural change, computerised maintenance management system configuration and utilisation, maintenance strategy development, performance analysis and defect elimination.

Mick is a member of the Asset Management Council, Association of Professional Engineers, Scientists and Managers Australia and the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Garry McCarthy, Business Development Manager

Garry McCarthy has been a part of the MPE team since 2003. His current role as Business Development Manager sees him managing all aspects of business development including strategy, marketing and promotion. 

With an electrical trade background Garry has worked in open cut coal operations with experience in dual electrical/ mechanical supervisory and management positions.

Peter Banks, Operations Manager - New South Wales

Peter Banks has extensive experience in maintenance and project management roles in hard rock and coal mining throughout Australia

Peter's expertise includes all areas of mine maintenance including planning, management and improvement strategies, reliability centred maintenance, equipment performance analysis, project and contract management.

In his current role Peter is responsible for managing the New South Wales workforce and providing management support to the MPE group.

Ron Shuttlewood, Operations Manager - South East Queensland

Ron Shuttlewood initially joined MPE in 2000 and was based in the New South Wales office. With engineering qualifications Ron’s area of expertise is project management, equipment audits, design and drafting, maintenance systems and management support.

In 2002 Ron was involved in the establishment of MPE’s South East Queensland operations. Following this he spent one year working in the United Kingdom on the implementation of a Computer Maintenance Management System for the United Kingdom Passenger Rail Network.

On his return to Australia Ron was based in the South East Queensland office and was appointed to his current role in early 2007.

Ron is a member of The Institution of Engineers Australia.

Arthur Saunders, Operations Manager - Central Queensland

Arthur's years of experience include management of maintenance improvement programs, reliability engineering and mobile equipment management strategy development.

His current role of QLD Operations Manager sees him managing MPE's client interests in Central Queensland and the management of MPE project engineering staff at a number of sites in the region.

Managers

Wayne Shoebridge, Project Manager

Wayne holds a certificate of mechanical engineering and a statement of attainment in colliery mechanical engineering and has formal qualifications in training and assessing.

Wayne has been a member of the MPE team since 2005 and his areas of expertise include maintenance planning and shift supervision as well as equipment compliance reporting including risk assessments and MDG15 inspections of OEM's and mine operators.

Alistair Christie, Project Manager

Alistair holds a bachelor of mechanical engineering and formal qualifications in maintenance management. Alistair has been a member of the Institution of Engineers Australia since 1989.

Alistair brings to MPE extensive experience in effective team management as well as knowledge of equipment reliability concepts, condition monitoring and maintenance planning.

Mark Jordan, Project Manager

Mark holds formal qualifications in engineering, management and training and assessing and has a certificate in aircraft sheet metal work. 

Mark's project management skills at MPE include maintenance planning and scheduling as well as system optimisation of Enterprise Resource Planning, Enterprise Resource Management and CMMS applications.

Steve O'Keeffe, Project Manager (Software)

Steve has a bachelor of electrical engineering from the University of Queensland.

Steve has been a member of the MPE team since 2005 and has worked on a number of projects including dragline relocations, maintenance improvement projects and the development of MPE's mainstay® maintenance management software. Steve's current role has him managing the implementation of mainstay at a number of client sites across Australia.

Steve Rogers, Software Development Manager

Steve brings to MPE a wide range of knowledge. Prior to joining the team Steve was running his own software development company specialising in the design of custom business applications.

Steve's role as Software Development Manager is to oversee the design of MPE's mainstay® maintenance management software.
